Sheryl Underwood, a American television personality and comedian, is best known as the presenter for The Talk, a popular talk show broadcast on daytime television. Born in Arkansas she grew up in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl was raised by a difficult family. Sheryl spent the majority of her life taking care of her sister Frankie, who had polio. When she was a child, she had difficulties to her maternal grandmother. Sheryl said she was once told that her mother attacked the father of her child because she was too closer to him. Sheryl joined military after graduating from the college. Sheryl's interest lay with comedy. She became the very first female winner of the Miller Lite Comedy Search in 1989. She began her TV job in the year 1992, having a frequent appearance as a performer on HBO's comedy show Def Comedy Jam. She also appeared in 2000 as host of the T.V. program Oh Drama! In 2011, she began appearing in The Talk as co-host. In addition she has also appeared in a variety of fictional characters on series including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
